APSEC 2009 is an international conference focusing on topics related to structural engineering and construction. The 1^st APSEC conference was held in 1989 in the historical city of Malacca. Since then the conference was held regularly at every three years and had attracted many researchers, academics and engineers from local and foreign. APSEC 2009 is set up as a strong platform to fruitful interaction and exchange of ideas, the latest technological advances, research results, design innovations as well as state-of-the-art information in the field of structural analysis, design, experiment and construction between scientists and engineers from both the academia and industry.

The 1^st EACEF Conference was held in September 2007 organised by Universitas Pelita Harapan, Jakarta, Indonesia. The 1^st Conference was held at the Universitas Pelita Harapan (UPH) Global Campus, located in Jakarta. The main objective of this two day conference is to provide a forum among European and Asian engineers in research and practice to present and to discuss the state-of-the-art as well as new research development in the field of Civil Engineering. The 2^nd EACEF to be held in 2009 at Malaysia will be jointly organised with the APSEC 2009 committee. 

The theme “Innovative and Sustainable Construction for Mankind” expresses a wide range of issues and development to be discussed in the conference

Engineers, architects, quantity surveyors, researchers, academics, contractors and developers are invited to attend this conference. The conference highlights a wide range of issues to enhance knowledge, increase awareness and explore new ideas and thinking in structures and constructions. Therefore paper(s) are invited to address any of the following aspects:
